Come and experience Australia's premier youth marching/concert band in action at our Open Day! Sit in with the current band members as we rehearse pieces we are preparing for the 2011/2012 Marching Season and our 2012 international tour to Malaysia. Also, for the first time, sit in with our Junior band!
Positions are currently available for players of woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. AYB has had many exciting opportunities on the world stage in recent years, including tours to Beijing for the 2008 Olympics and to North America in 2010.

The Annual Concert for 2011 is shaping up to be our best yet! Come and experience a truly diverse program, from the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar and Weber's virtuosic Clarinet Concertino to the Big Band standard Feeling Good and Richard O'Toole's very own composition, Alpine Grandeur.
This year's concert features the very entertaining Rhonda Burchmore as
well as AYB's longstanding patron and renowned jazz drummer John
Morrison. In addition to our guest artists, the concert will also
feature performances by JAYB and the AYB Drumline.

Come and see your favourite youth band (AYB, that is!) perform alongside many other parade participants in the 2010 Myer Christmas Parade! Bring the family along to Bourke St Melbourne to witness the spectacle which will include many well-known characters and performers, such as the characters of Sesame Street, Dorothy the Dinosaur and Friends, Yogi Bear, and performances by the cast of Hairspray and Mary Poppins!
And of course, what would a Myer Christmas Parade be without the man in the red suit himself, and his favourite helper Jennifer Hawkins? Be sure to welcome Santa to Melbourne and get there early to secure a good spot!

New Ensemble for Junior Musicians
The Australian Youth Band is entering an exciting new phase, with the establishment of a junior ensemble for young musicians aged 12 -15. Players of brass, woodwind and percussion instruments who have a minimum musical standard of AMEB Grade 2 are encouraged to audition.
