The Annual Concert is a celebration of all that is AYB. The band is busy preparing an enjoyable program of music and we are very excited to welcome back the Melbourne Welsh Male Choir as our guest artists. Known as “the best Welsh choir outside of Wales” the Melbourne Welsh Male Choir have been serenading audiences since 1984 with their unique Welsh-Australian sound.
This year’s concert will include music from Verdi’s Aida, ‘Danse Bacchanale’ by Camille Saint-Saens, ‘Overture to the Poet and Peasant’ by Franz von Suppe, plus contemporary music from Star Wars to Duke Ellington, and various Broadway musicals. In addition to our special guests, the Melbourne Welsh Male Choir, the concert will also feature the AYB Drumline, Big Band, Training Band, Brass Ensemble and Wind Trio.
AYB has had another very successful twelve months, which included two ‘Morning Melodies’ performances at Hamer Hall with the band’s patron, Ms Rhonda Burchmore OAM, and a concert tour to China where the band represented Australia with performances at the Shanghai Tourism Festival.
